Amazon and Toyota are just two high profile examples of the roaring economy created by Trump’s tax cuts and regulatory reform agenda.

Indiana is hiring: this past week, both Amazon and Toyota announced they were creating thousands of new jobs in our great state, which is further proof that the pro-growth policies advocated for by President Trump and entrepreneurs like myself in the Senate are working for Hoosiers.

In Greenwood, Amazon has announced they are hiring over 1,000 full-time jobs for their fulfillment center.  Each of these employees will be paid at least $15 per hour as well as healthcare benefits, matching retirement benefits, and up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave.

While Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tells Amazon they are not welcome to create good paying jobs in New York City, my response is quite simple: Indiana is open for business and we will gladly take good paying Amazon jobs.

Meanwhile, Toyota also put up the help wanted sign for 400 new employees in Princeton. These new workers will help Toyota — which produces the Toyota Highlander, Toyota Sequoia and Toyota Sienna here in Indiana — put out 40,000 more vehicles each year, bringing their yearly production total in Indiana to 440,000.

This news will continue to give our friends in the Motor City a run for their money, as last year we produced over 1.02 million vehicles, resulting in over 13,000 auto manufacturing jobs and nearly 9,000 dealership jobs.

Amazon and Toyota are just two high profile examples of the roaring economy created by Trump’s tax cuts and regulatory reform agenda, leading to more jobs, larger paychecks, and the opportunity for companies to reinvest in themselves.

As the Trump boom enters another quarter, more companies can do what I did in my logistics company: share the benefits of Trump’s tax cuts with our employees through bonuses, lower healthcare costs, reinvest in the company and hire additional employees.

The addition of good paying full-time work from companies like Amazon and Toyota is proof that Trump’s economic policies are working. Indiana will always be open for business, and we look forward to welcoming more great new jobs into our state.

Republican Mike Braun represents Indiana in the U.S. Senate.
