WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLFI) — Senator Mike Braun of Indiana is leading at least 40 Republican Senators to challenge President Biden’s vaccine mandate.

In the coming days, the White House is expected to publish a rule for private businesses with at least one hundred employees.

That rule is expected to require businesses to ensure their workers are vaccinated against COVID-19 or have their workers tested on a weekly basis.

The mandate would impact roughly 80 million workers.

Senator Braun said the rule could impact small businesses more than anything seen so far in the pandemic.

“All I can tell you is, most businesses took COVID serious from the get go. They wanted to keep their employees and their customers safe,” said Sen. Braun.

Senators are also concerned the rule could worsen the current labor shortage and further disrupt supply chains.

Senator Todd Young of Indiana is also among the Senators challenging the mandate.
